Individualized Services and Consultations in the Natural Environment
Traditionally, kids are taken out of their natural environment to receive speech & language services. Erin’s philosophy and expertise is in facilitating therapeutic services and infusing therapy in the natural learning environment (home, school and in the community) to support language development. Teachable moments are integrated throughout our children’s day. Her philosophy is to take these moments and provide opportunities for learning and growth. This collaborative effort is in a school setting with teachers, specialists, therapists as well as the home with siblings, parents, neighbors.
Erin is an integral part of the team for educators as well as families
Collaboration with parents and other professionals as well as any other people involved in the client’s life is an integral and necessary part of any therapeutic program. Erin’s capabilities include working with both existing programs and creating individualized social learning curriculum for the family/team based on measurable goals. Erin believes it is crucial to teach self-regulation and coping strategies to decrease anxiety as early as possible. By embedding these techniques into her individualized Social Learning Curriculum the clients are provided with a safe environment to develop their self-awareness for social learning skills.
