Individualized Services and Consultations in the Natural Environment

Traditionally, kids are taken out of their natural environment to receive speech & language services. At Erin’s Place we facilitate therapeutic services and provide therapy in the natural learning environment (home, school and in the community) to support language development. Teachable moments are integrated throughout our children’s day. Our philosophy is to take these moments and provide opportunities for learning and growth. This collaborative effort is in a school setting with teachers, specialists, therapists as well as the home with siblings, parents, neighbors.

Collaboration with parents and other professionals as well as other people involved in the client’s life is an integral and necessary part of any therapeutic program.  We work with existing programs and we create Individualized Social Learning Curriculum for the family/team, based on measurable goals. Erin’s Place believes it is crucial to teach self-regulation and coping strategies to decrease anxiety as early as possible. By embedding these techniques into the Individualized Social Learning Curriculum the clients are provided with a safe environment to develop their self-awareness for ocial learning skills.
